The difference between RGB light strips and RGBW light strips

RGB light strip means that each LED welded on the LED light strip is composed of three chips: red, green, and blue. They can emit three single colors of red, green, and blue individually, or the three chips can emit light together to form a white light,. If a controller is added, the four colors of red, green, blue and white can be sequentially transformed and flashed.

RGB light strips can also use two or three chips to emit light. According to the light emitting principle and grayscale conditions, RGB light strips can adjust the static color of any color, and can also adjust the color of jumps and gradients.

Since the RGB light strips are in the entire system, the colors at each time point are different, and the running water or horse racing effect cannot be achieved.

RGBW light strips are based on the original RGB three primary color pixels and add a white sub-pixel to form an RGBW four-color pixel. The purpose is to provide LCD with effective use of energy and add a white area to the RGB three primary colors to transmit light. Area can improve the utilization of the LCD's backlight, increase the display brightness of the LCD, and reduce the power consumption of the LCD. Using this mode will reduce the purity and saturation of the monochrome.

RGBW light strips are controlled by dimmers to achieve rich light effects such as horse racing, running water, meteor trailing, and scanning.
