LED light strips are divided into high-voltage LED light strips and low-voltage LED light strips according to voltage. Low-voltage light strips are more secure and suitable for situations where the human body is easily exposed, so they are loved by the majority of users. Common types of low-voltage LED light strips are 5V, 12V and 24V. In lighting applications of light strips, 12V and 24V are the two most common types. So what is the difference between 24V and 12V low-voltage light strips?

1. Different voltages and different operating distances
Usually a 12V light strip will have a voltage drop if it exceeds 5 meters, so it needs to be recharged every 5 meters. The 24V light strip is replenished every 10 meters or 20 meters, so it requires less power and is simpler to install.

2. Different cutting points
The 12V light strip has 3 lights per cut, and the 24V light strip has 6 lights per cut. The cutting distance and point position are different, and the power of the LED lights is different.

3. Different usage scenarios
12V light strips are more suitable for short-distance installation, such as home decoration and small store decoration, where the installation distance is less than or equal to 5 meters. 24V light strips are more suitable for long-distance engineering lighting.

The above is a summary of the differences between 12V and 24V LED light strips.
